Climavi: The Smart Climate Monitor
Climavi is the most cost-effective and highly integrated micro-climate monitoring system currently available on the market.
This patented measuring method, with a new level of accuracy, allows you to know exactly what influence the microclimate has on your plants.
With an easily portable, low maintenance system you can monitor your plants, crops and trees whether in an agricultural or urban environment.
Through the combined use of the Climavi Soil and Climavi One, volumetric soil moisture and soil temperature can be measured in addition to relative humidity, air temperature and global radiation.
All units are powered by photovoltaics with energy storage.
Climavi allows you to adapt your irrigation and work with local soil moisture conditions.
Climavi One:
The above-ground component (Climavi One) is an IoT weather sensor. It records the air temperature, humidity and solar radiation and sends the data directly to the Climavi App using the energy-efficient IoT radio standard.
Additional sensors can be installed via two SDI-12 connections. It is powered by two solar cells that charge a supercap energy storage device (3.8 V / 90 mWh) and battery, making it energy self-sufficient. To use the Climavi One, the user must check the IoT coverage. After scanning the QR code, the sensor is added to the user account. Additional settings are available.
All data is automatically transmitted live and sent to the cloud via NB-IoT, free of charge and evaluated. It is available via the Climavi App on the web and smartphones. It can also be freely shared with others with no further subscriptions, licenses or fees. Application maps for irrigation and fertilization can also be created.
Climavi soil
The underground part (Climavi Soil) is a newly developed soil sensor for monitoring soil microclimate and validating the spatiotemporal Climavi App microclimate predictions. It measures soil temperature and soil moisture at 3 measurement depths (-10, -30 and -45 cm. ).
Calibration can be done manually or within the Climavi App environmental intelligence, which provides the necessary tools for mapping soil parameters to calculate volumetric water content, create soil moisture maps and application maps for irrigation and fertilization.
Thanks to an energy-saving concept and the integrated photovoltaic cells, the sensor is completely energy self-sufficient, meaning that no battery changes or other servicing are necessary.
The soil sensor can be easily installed using an installation tool. It prepares two parallel floor slots and insert the sensor. The sensor can be installed within a few minutes and activated by scanning the QR code.

How many units do I need?
This depends largely on your location and the cultivation method. For a typical agricultural operation, we recommend one Climavi One per crop and one Climavi Soil per location. If the distances are large or the soil types vary greatly, additional sensors may be useful. Soil maps and topography maps in the Climavi App help with the choice of location.
In the city, in horticulture or in intensive cultivation, the installation of one Climavi One and one Climavi Soil per irrigation unit is optimal. By evaluating the data, irrigation can be precisely adjusted and takes place at the right time.
